My parents moved into this residence in July. They have been well-treated by the staff and spoken to by name whenever they meet. During the first wave of the pandemic, I was comforted knowing that their meals were provided in their apartment, and there were medical staff monitoring their continued health. Great care was taken by the staff to keep up their spirits and to ensure they were safe. Vaccines were readily available and provided not only to my parents, but to their caregivers also. Currently they have screening measures in place to ensure that the safety of the residents, continues. I appreciate knowing that my parents are well looked after and I am able to visit by appointment. Thank you very much, Chartwell Pickering Staff!

I had an amazing experience as a co-op student at this Chartwell residence. The management are a group of caring individuals who took time out of their (extremely) busy schedules to guide and teach. The range and number of activities that the residents have the opportunity to take part in is extraordinary! From crosswords to mystery nights, cards, brain stimulating games, fitness, crafts...the list goes on. This Chartwell keeps the residents on their toes with something for everyone. The actual building is easy to navigate, and very well maintained. Another great feature of Chartwell Pickering City Centre is it's proximity to EVERYTHING! The Pickering Town Centre, Public Library, Seasonal farmers Market and Community Centre are all walk-able for most.

My mother as been in the residence since April. It is a 5 star home. The leadership is first class and all truly care about their residents. My mother didn't want to be "in a retirement home" but back home. so she was difficult but the staff were patient and caring and within 4 months it was "her home". The food is very good, the location excellent (especially for the units overlooking the PCC. We found the elevator location very central to the dining room, the entry and front desk, the lounge and snack room...really excellent for those using walkers. The colour scheme, mostly vibrant blues was very nice, lots of art work and a full schedule of activities, although my Mom was not a major participant. The food choices were excellent as well and the dining room bright and attractive.....like a top restaurant. But I suppose in the end people make a place and at Chartwell Pickering Town Centre the leadership and staff are 1st class.

Always trying to please!.. Excellent caring people. I would recommend this Chartwell to anyone seeking a great retirement home. Great food and lots of activities both inside and outside. Be at The Center of it All at Chartwell City Centre!
